Life...it happens

Yes, we are all fine. Just busy with life. Why does it have to be so hectic sometimes?

Fear not...the blog has NOT been abandoned!

Well, it has been a sad, sad few weeks around here...for me anyway.

After my case of spring fever writer's block, we went on our camping trip to Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. It was wonderful...everyone had a great time! We can't wait to go back again. The waterfall was magnificent and I did take LOTS of pictures as promised. In fact, over that 5 day trip, I took over 160 pictures! And that was after I deleted some!

However, the most horrible, dreaded thing that I could ever imagine happening, happened. Our computer crashed. I lost FOUR YEARS worth of pictures!!!! All of Abby's infancy pictures, all of our special occasions...including our camping trip, everything...gone! I literally cried and mourned the loss of my pictures for several days. I am still devastated just thinking about it. But I suppose time has a way of healing old wounds...and the loss of pictures...by creating new memories. This past weekend, I got out my camera for the first time since the crash. It was Perry's birthday and also Memorial Day. Although I still cry inside for the irreplaceable photos, I look forward to creating more. Below is one I took yesterday of Abby playing in her pool. Oh, and now I have a new obsession...digital scrapbooking! I'm sure you will be seeing lots of my creations in the near future! Ha, ha!

Neglected again...

Yes, my blog is being woefully neglected again. This time, however, it's for a good cause...a clean house! Early last week, I started cleaning my house by following a planner. It's available at motivatedmoms.com. I do have to say that the website isn't much except a place to purchase the planners. Anyway, I purchased a planner ($8) and have begun following their routine. There is a list of tasks you perform every day and then there is another list for each day of the week which varies daily. So far, I've stuck with it for over a week! My house already looks much better and I actually enjoy it. Believe me, for someone who hates cleaning as much as I do, this is a major accomplishment! It's nice to know that I only have a dozen or so things to do each day and then I'm done. Satisfaction is a great feeling! It definitely keeps me busy so for now, this blog is being somewhat neglected. Sorry blog buddies...I haven't forgotten you though!

New Year...New Look!

In recognition of the new year, I've given the blog a new look. What do you think? Right now, I'm loving the black, green, and white combination.

Stay tuned for LOTS of pictures! I have Christmas and Abby's birthday pictures to upload and then I'll share them with all of you.

Knock, knock.....who's there?

OK...I know I shared a link to this blog with lots...well, several...people. However, the only comments I seem to get are from my mom. I've had a few people tell me that they have read my blog so now I'm calling you out! If you read this blog...even just sporadically, please post a comment. Even if it's nothing except your name. I'd like to know if this blogging is just mental therapy for me or if others are actually reading it.

If you aren't familiar with how to leave a comment, look down to the bottom of this post. See the word "comments"? Click on that word and it will take you to another page where you can leave your comment. This process does require that you have a Google account, but they are free and relatively painless to create. Don't know what to say? Just say "Hi!" It makes me smile to see comments!

Thanks to everyone that participates in my little experiment to banish lurkers in blogland!

Yes, I'm still here!

Oh my...did you think I would start this new blog and then disappear?

Last weekend, Perry installed a new security suite on our computer. The only problem is that I didn't know he had done so! On Monday, I started trying to get into my blog which is accessed via the internet. Well, I couldn't get onto the site. I tried every single day with no luck. I first thought it was a problem with the Blogger site. Then, I decided maybe it was a virus or spam on our computer. I did a virus scan...clean. I did a spam scan...which it did find some. I deleted those and it still wouldn't work. Ugh! I finally got around to asking Perry to take a look at it today and he eventually figured out that it was something to do with the new firewall he had installed. Hooray! I'm back now! I've thought about so many things to write about over the past week, but I'm much too tired to tell you about them tonight. More later! Thanks for not giving up on me!

It's alive!

It's alive....my new blog that is! It seems that everyone lately has a blog so I decided to jump on the bangwagon too. Just Another Ordinary Day...the name definitely suits me. How did I decide on that name you ask? Well, every day on his way home from work, my DH (dear husband) calls me to chat during his commute. Our conversation usually begins something like this...

DH: Hi Sweetheart! How was your day?
ME: Hi Honey! It was fine.
DH: So, what did you do today?
ME: Oh, not much. It was just another ordinary day.

And so the name was born. Yes, of course there are days when something extraordinary happens. In the future, those days will become a blog entry. However, I have to say that I'm thankful for ordinary days. With so many bad things happening in the world today and all the problems people deal with every day, I'm blessed to have an uneventful life. My children are healthy, my marriage is happy, and the bills are paid. Those are just a few ordinary things I am thankful for each day. Therefore, I wish you a lifetime of ordinary days too.

P.S. I'd love to hear from you! You have the option of leaving a comment below each blog entry.
