Yep...you guessed it. My Tiny Tornado has struck again! This time she decided to try out Mommy's new mineral make-up...and wasted most of it in the process. Believe me, it was much worse than these pictures show.
She snuck into my bathroom, found a stool in the closet, took it into the bathroom, climbed on top of the counter, and started experimenting. Oh well...you can stay angry with this little face for very long.

Just another ordinary blog entry...
I have been slacking and I am sorry. This cleaning gig is great, but it, combined with everything else in an ordinary day, leaves me with little time and no energy. However, I owe my faithful bloggy readers a new post. So here it goes:
Me? What have I been doing? What's been on my mind lately? Well, I am wanting spring to hurry up. I keep seeing all the cute springy items and want to dress Abby in some pretty floral pastels, but then I remember it's just February. I am, however, buying a few spring items for our home. I know they probably won't be around when spring actually arrives. One item on my list are some beautiful Bordallo bunny plates. Here is an auction so you can see what I'm drooling over: http://cgi.ebay.com/Bordallo-Hinheiro-1-Salad-Plate-Easter-Bunny-Green-NWT_W0QQitemZ300294206115QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item300294206115&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
I was in HomeGoods yesterday and they had 2 of them for $4.99 each. I snatched them up and now I am looking for 4 more. Wish me luck!
Perry? Well, he recently changed jobs AGAIN! Yes, he's still with JCPenney and he's still an Allocation Manager, but he changed from Women's Accessories department back to the Women's Apparel department. That was his previous area before moving to accessories. He loved it over there and had some really good friends so I'm glad he was able to go back. However, this is a MUCH more demanding job and he's having to bring work home with him in order to catch up. Hopefully things will ease up soon.
Emily? She's as busy as always! No Color Guard competition this coming weekend, but she does have a Solo & Ensemble Competition playing her flute. If it's not one thing, it's another! I don't know how she juggles it all. Apparently, she is juggling it well though because her recent report card proudly announced As in all 7 subjects....including 3 Pre-AP courses! Way to go, Emily!
Abby? My oh my...this kid is either going to drive me to the nut house or keep me young. I haven't decided which it is going to be yet. She has sooooooo much energy and keeps me on my toes all day long. She is growing up quickly though and it was very apparent a few days ago. On Saturday, we took her to have her 3rd birthday portraits made. Yes, I know I'm late. Don't rub it in. Then on Tuesday night, we went to view the proofs. I know I see her every single day, but I was shocked at how much older she looked in those pictures. Why can't they just stay little?

Neglected again...
Yes, my blog is being woefully neglected again. This time, however, it's for a good cause...a clean house! Early last week, I started cleaning my house by following a planner. It's available at motivatedmoms.com. I do have to say that the website isn't much except a place to purchase the planners. Anyway, I purchased a planner ($8) and have begun following their routine. There is a list of tasks you perform every day and then there is another list for each day of the week which varies daily. So far, I've stuck with it for over a week! My house already looks much better and I actually enjoy it. Believe me, for someone who hates cleaning as much as I do, this is a major accomplishment! It's nice to know that I only have a dozen or so things to do each day and then I'm done. Satisfaction is a great feeling! It definitely keeps me busy so for now, this blog is being somewhat neglected. Sorry blog buddies...I haven't forgotten you though!

Winter Guard Competition
The McKinney Boyd Color Guard did it again!
The ladies of the guard took home the 2nd place trophy this past Saturday at the Lamar Winter Guard competition. This is the highest placement for the color guard this year! The guard also scored their highest score of the season and was only 2 points away from tying for first place and getting promoted to the next class. Congratulations ladies on earning your second trophy of the season! We are all very proud of you!!

Sunday Hymns
Do you love old hymns as much as I do? If so, here's one I'm sure you'll recall...
Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee.
Let the water and the blood, From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure, Save from wrath and make me pure.
Could my tears forever flow? Could my zeal no languor know?
These for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone.
In my hand no price I bring; Simply to thy cross I cling.
While I draw this fleeting breath, When my eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown, And behold Thee on Thy throne,
Rock of Ages cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee.

Augustus Montague Toplady was born on November 4th, 1740. He was very much so spoiled by his mother after his father died in a war. He was never liked by anyone, including his relatives. However, Augustus was very interested in the Lord and began preaching to anyone who would listen at age twelve. He started writing hymns at age 14 and became a Christian at age 16 after attending a service in a barn. At 22 he was ordained and he died at the age of 38. His best known hymn, "Rock of Ages", has outlived him by many centuries.

Illness Update!
I thought I should give you all an update after the extremely negative post I left last Thursday. I did indeed catch what the girls had. I started getting sick Thurday night...just a few hours after my entry. I was sick all weekend as was Emily. Abby started getting better on Friday.
Emily and I went to the doctor yesterday (Monday) and she said we both had sinus infections. Now, maybe that's what it's dwindled down to at this point, but I don't believe that is what started all of this nastiness. Anyway, we both have antibiotics and I am feeling much better today. I could tell Emily felt a little better, but she was much worse than me to begin with so it's going to take her longer to get well. Abby still has a cough, but it doesn't slow her down for a second!
Hopefully, we all will be as good as new by the weekend because Emily and the Winter Guard have another competition on Saturday. I am sorry she was sick during her weekend off, but at least she didn't miss a competition due to illness and mess up their routine.
6:05pm Update: Perry just got home from work and guess what...he's sick now. I'm sending him to the doctor first thing in the morning so hopefully he won't get as sick as the rest of us!
